Support to the Technical Assistance Directorate of the Environment Operational Programme Managing Authority in Romania.
For a period of 17 months, ESEP Ltd provided expert staff with practical experience of managing European Structural Funds Programmes to assist the Technical Assistance Directorate of the Managing Authority for the Environment Operational Programme in Romania. The Romanian Environment Operational Programme is a key programme worth €5.6 billion. Support was provided to tasks including training, preparation of procedures, strategy/action plans, risk analysis, guidelines, and evaluation techniques and methods.
Following on from the success of the initial work carried out by ESEP Ltd staff, further bespoke training in European Structural Funds Management was requested by the client. In addition, two delegations from the Romanian Managing Authority visited Scotland for a week long study visit to meet counterparts from the Scottish Government, ESEP as the Intermediate Body for the Scottish LUPS Programmes, and experts from the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), to discuss the Scottish approach to programme management and environmental regulation. The visits were also hosted by ESEP Ltd.
Gordon McLaren, ESEP Ltd Director of Business Development, has been commissioned by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations to provide expert consultancy on the future roles and responsibilities of Scotland's voluntary sector in contributing to national and local development priorities under the next programming period for the European Structural Funds Programmes across Scotland.
ESEP has won a EUR1.04M EU-funded contract to provide technical assistance for Cross Border Cooperation in Kosovo.
ESEP has won a EUR2.3M technical assistance contract to support Croatia's transition into the EU.
