Claim Process : Publicising Structural Funds Support

Projects that have received European Structural Fund grant must acknowledge this in all publicity material.

It is a condition of grant that any assistance received by a project through the Structural Funds is clearly and appropriately acknowledged.

The Scottish Government and the IAB must ensure that all publicity measures fully comply with the European Regulation.

It is the responsibility of lead applicant organisations to ensure that all publicity requirements are met and documented examples are made available to the IAB as part of the regular progress reporting and monitoring exercises.

Scottish Publicity Logos

The European Commission has agreed the use of a new Scottish-style EU logo to publicise projects approved for funding under the 2007-2013 European Structural Funds Scotland Programmes.

The new logos promote the concept of Europe and Scotland and combine the EU emblem with the Scottish Government logo. There are two logos; one for the European Social Fund (ESF), the other for the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The logos are available in EPS format for print reproduction.  The versions of the new logos are available for download as zip files:

Guidance

Publicity Requirements Guidance has been issued by the Scottish Governmentto assist applicants.

Structural Funds Regulations

The Structural Funds Regulations state the need for adequate public acknowledgement of the assistance from the Structural Funds to increase awareness of their contributions to economic development. The Publicity Guidance should therefore be read in conjunction with that Regulation.

Commission Regulation (EC) Number 1828/2006, Articles 8 and 9, sets out the publicity requirements.   Annex I sets out the instructions for creating the emblem and a definition of the standard colours.

A copy of the Regulations can be downloaded from the European Commission website.
