Ministerial Announcement on First Round
The Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism, Jim Mather MSP, has now approved the recommendations of the Programme Monitoring Committee at its meeting on Wednesday 19 March 2008 to award European Structural Funds to projects submitted under the respective ESF and ERDF Priorities in the First Round of the Lowland and Uplands Scotland Programmes 2007-2013.
Project lists are provided by Priority and identify both successful and unsuccessful projects.
ESEP will aim to issue notification letters by Friday 18 April 2008 setting out for successful projects the approval in principle and highlighting any outstanding technical issues.
For successful projects, you should be aware that these awards are indicative at this stage and may be subject to change following the resolution of any outstanding technical issues.
Projects which are unsuccessful in this round will receive feedback in order that these projects may be strengthened and re-submitted in subsequent rounds. If you feel your application has been treated unfairly or improperly you can write to the Chair of the Programme Management Committee asking for a review of the fairness of the process. A request for this process review must be sent within one month of the decision notified to you by the IAB.
With regard to the CPP bids, a total of up to £25m ESF grant and £17.1m ERDF grant has been awarded. A separate ranked list is provided and you should note that the first 8 bids have been approved subject to the removal of ineligible and/or duplicate activity, and ensuring that the remaining activity is complimentary and achievable within the strict 2 year timeline, i.e. from 1 April 2008 to 31 March 2010. The next 3 bids will not be funded in their entirety but certain discrete and eligible components may be supported where there is no duplication. The remaining 2 bids were unsuccessful and will receive feedback in due course.
