2007-2013 Programmes : Allocated Funds
The total funding allocated to the Lowlands and Uplands Scotland area for the 2007-2013 Structural Funds Programmes is approximately €645 million.
This is around half the funding available in the previous period, the reduction being due almost entirely to the enlargement of the EU through the accession of new Member States whose development needs are markedly greater than ours.
This is the biggest cut that Scotland has ever had to contend with in the Structural Funds monies received from the EU. However, what we can understand from this situation is:
- This reflects our relative prosperity in comparison with some EU counterparts
- The reduction is broadly in line with the reductions sustained by the rest of the UK and in most of the older EU Member States
- More than half a billion pounds is still a substantial sum with the potential to have real impact in Lowlands and Uplands Scotland
The Priority allocations for the two Programmes in the Lowlands and Uplands area are detailed below. Please note that conversion values to £ Sterling are based on recent exchange rates against the Euro and as a result are subject to change throughout the lifetime of the Programme.:
