Priority 1 ERDF Announcement
29 November 2011
On 29 November 2011, Energy Minister Fergus Ewing announced funding of almost £5 million to Scottish Enterprise from Priority 1 of the LUPS Programme for an Offshore Renewables Research and Development Programme. The Programme will help minimise costs and risks in the offshore environment by supporting research and development, prototype development, innovation and commercialisation activities involving small and medium sized enterprises. ERDF Priority 3: New Call for Applications - Transport Projects
12 October 2011
Scottish Government has announced a call for applications under ERDF Priority 3 for projects that promote clean and sustainable public transport linking areas of need with areas of opportunity as part of an integrated urban development plan.
Aim of Funding and Eligible Activity
£10m - £15m is currently available under Priority 3. The maximum grant intervention rate is 40%. A detailed note outlining the policy rationale, aim of funding, and priority areas of eligible activity can be downloaded here.

Finance Secretary John Swinney has announced £14.3 million of European Regional Development Fund support from the Lowlands and Uplands Scotland Programme for investment in Scotland's tourism sector, sustainable public transport, developing SMEs, building links between research and business and providing training opportunities.

Renewable Energy and Low Carbon Economy Projects
Jim Mather, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism, has announced funding of £6.9 million for 12 renewable energy and low carbon economy projects funded by the Lowlands and Uplands Scotland European Regional Development Fund Programme. Announcement of ERDF Priority 2 Funding

On 30 December 2010, Enterprise Minister Jim Mather announced more than £6.6 million from Priority 2 of the Lowlands and Uplands Scotland European Regional Development Fund Programme to provide advice and support to small businesses and entrepreneurs, and help create more than 7,000 jobs.

Update on Priority 5 Timetable
14 December 2010
Following the Ministerial Announcement for ESF Priority 5 please note the following date changes:
- 2 page summary of suggested changes to bids should be sent to ESEP by Friday 14 January 2011 - this should cover any major changes following the Ministerial announcement of allocations and can also note the phasing of Priority 1 activities into Priority 5 activities during 2011. The 2 page summary should be emailed to ESEP . The Scottish Government and IAB will be holding meetings with individual bidders during January 2011 to discuss any changes. Please see the attached link to the meeting request web-site to book your meeting . Please note, due to the delay in the Ministerial Announcement extra dates will be added at the end of January 2011 to accommodate some later meetings.
- Stage 2 applications on €urosys to be entered by Friday 28th January 2011 - annexes should be emailed to ESEP to accompany the Stage 2 bid.
Ministerial Announcement of ESF Priority 5 Funding

Communities across Lowlands and Uplands Scotland will receive a share of a £64.6 million allocation of Priority 5 of the European Social Fund, as part of a national skills development programme to strengthen Scotland's workforce.
Education Secretary Michael Russell made the announcement at the Orkney Street Enterprise Centre in Glasgow this morning where he met young people involved in employability courses. The full press release can be accessed here .
