Promoting equal opportunities is of crucial importance to all businesses regardless of size, sector or location. Companies need to ensure that they need to respond to the ever-evolving equality legislation and directives, the changing composition of the labour market and greater economic competition.
Fair Play Scotland's 'Enterprising Approaches to Equality' project, in association with the EOC Scotland Equality Exchange and ESF Objective 3, has compiled an Equality Checklist for small and medium-sized businesses
The publication aims to highlight the business benefits of promoting equality to SMEs, and includes:
- a self-assessment checklist
- an explanation of some of the key terminology used when discussing policy and equality.
- the main legislation in the field of equality in both the UK and the European Union
- a list of useful addresses and web-sites of key organisations within the field of equal opportunities.
